🎶 Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things 🎶
After a tumultuous year and a half, we've reached an interesting point where humans would give just about anything for some stability, and simultaneously crave the opportunity to hit refresh. Enter: fall! On September 22, we officially start the season that promises new beginnings, and the opportunity to snuggle up inside and hit pause.
Here are just a few things to get excited about for the onset of fall:
Scarves, and sweaters, and boots - oh my! 'Tis the season for cute AND comfortable clothes.
Windows open, crockpot a'cookin', and the sound of cheering crowds coming through your TV. Is there a better feeling?!
Speaking of crockpots... how about three cheers for all those delicious root vegetables in season, like butternut squash in a nice, warm soup?! While pumpkin often takes center stage, we can't forget about maple, apple, and cinnamon, too! Fall food = the best food. Special shout out to these apple cider donuts from Trader Joe's!
Not only are trees often more beautiful to admire in autumn, they symbolize the very opportunity and need for everyone to get a fresh start. Breathe it in!
It's time to fill our homes with our favorite scents above the mantel, pumpkins by the fireplace, and throw pillows on the couch. Relaxation mode activated.
And before you know it, it'll be arguably the greatest holiday of all time: Halloween! Soon followed by the official holiday season full of cheer. This year, I think our fresh perspectives will give us all something to be grateful for.
Whether it's a family recipe, fuzzy socks, or frolicking through a corn field, what are your favorite things about fall? Tell us in the comments!
